Comox Valley SOCIAL PLANNING SOCIETY

Founded in 1996, the Comox Valley Social Planning Society (CVSPS) is a collaborative group formed to address social issues, and to support community initiatives that improve quality of life in the Comox Valley.

Social planning involves a number of activities and services that help analyze the cultural, economic, physical, and social well being of a community that often relates to social development issues such as housing, food security, cultural heritage, sense of community, community services, and accessibility and mobility. Social planning organizations facilitate workshops with key stakeholder groups; conduct surveys of local residents, businesses, community groups, or councils; analyze demographic data to develop community profiles and identify service needs; and map services and facilities to assist with social or business planning.
